Ministry of Education Begins National Consultation on Education

Press office
May 1, 2013

The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture is advising the public that a National Consultation on Education is schedule to run from 6th May to 14th May, 2013. The Consultation is being undertaken in an effort to review several key areas of the national education system.

This evaluation is expected to determine whether the TCI has an educational system that meets the developmental needs of an evolving, multicultural society. It will assess all levels of the system to ensure that they are inter-connected; that all sections are geared towards achieving the same goals and to ensure that as the children of the TCI progress through the system, they are experiencing a seamless progress from Early Childhood to Primary through to Secondary School and on to College.

The Ministry is therefore inviting all stakeholders in education and the community to participate in the National Consultation on Education by attending the discussions to be held on Providenciales, North & Middle Caicos, Grand Turk, and South Caicos. The Dates and locations are:

  • 6th May, 2013 – Providenciales
  • 7th May, 2013 – North & Middle Caicos
  • 13th May, 2013 – Grand Turk
  • 14th May, 2013 – South Caicos
